Thanks, Lala. Of course you are right. I don't pretend to your knowledge of horses, and I'm aware of how they became domestic animals. Your point is equally true of dogs - horses and dogs both were useful to man, so they were used, and became domesticated/dependent. I was neither defending nor condemning that reality - simply pointing out, in response to John, the difference between animals that have been domesticated, and those that haven't.
