LaLa,It took some time for me to understand what you meant by expressing your hope that I may come to some other conclusion. It then dawned upon me - I hope - that I have succeeded in confusing you, in addition to myself.
If you read my posting as a defence for keeping any animal in captivity, that's diametrically wrong. When I expressed my lack of understanding for treating the various animals so differently, it was actually the opposite way around.
I'm not sure why some many of us, partly including even me, consider it a divine right or something, to own another living being, and keep it under control in an environment it's not originally been created for, just for our own pleasure or for making money out of them. Here I included horses and dogs, but it also goes for cats, birds and other domestic animals. I don't have a good explanation yet, and that's what I'll have to put a little more thought into.
I may give a fuller report when I have finished sorting out my thoughts. ;-)
So at the present stage, the list of hysterical do gooders includes at least two names.
