I should have checked my Beevor's "Crete. The Battle and th Resistance" earlier!
On page 308 it says that whilst PLF and the others with Kriepe hid en route to Saktouria, they heard a number of explosions. It transpired that four villages, Kamares, Lokhria, Margarikari and Saktouria had been destroyed, not as a consequence of the capture of Kriepe but most likely because of an arms run caique on 20th April in which 38 mule-loads of weapons had reached the andartes, and an attack on occupation forces by andarte leader Petrakageorgis.
PLF et al eventually left from Rodakino
