Just to add my tupence!we really like Matala, great beach, very dramatic scenery with the sandstone cliffs ( with the caves/holes ) sloping into the sea. i am hoping to spend a couple of days there this may and will be enjoying a quiet beer over looking the beach at the last pub before africa
I would also recommend a walk over to red beach if you prefer quieter beaches with less clothes
