Yes Kostas, we noticed that would be very bad weather and we left Xania just in time on Saturday night(on Sunday the ferry did not leave). When we arrived to Pireaus it was very windy and it was raining like we were driving in some kind of a waterfall.
Anyway we followed a lorry out from the port and soon we were on our way to Patras not on the high way, no we went on the old road along the coast.
The rain stopped when we reached Korinthos and then we had a very nice day and evening, but that is another story.
Nice sea trip to Venice (with sunshine and warm weather)even though the prices on board are up this year.
Still sun in Venice and Italy and we kept good speed (average almost 135 km/hour) on the "autostrada" up to Brenner.
Then we reached Austria, where it as usual started to snow and later changed to rain. Always the same, snow or/and rain in that country. Well the car was heavy loaded, with oliveoil 40 kg, wine 40 kg local of course(all gifts), paximadia, loukanika, cheese, oranges, lemons, nuts, honey, kydonia, ordinarie wine about 15 bottles, raki of course about 10 kg(gifts again), metaxa and some whisky (how much??) and much more. On top of that the suitcases, 3 of them and they were heavy, so actually we had no problems. A heavy car is good when driving in snow.
Germany rain, rain and rain again but still we kept good speed.
The rain stopped when we passed Leipzig and we reached Rostock in good time for the ferry to Sweden.
1.350 km and speed average from Venice of 129 km/hour, not bad.
I just had a minor problem with my co-driver, she said that the car was still moving when we stopped at the port of Rostock...and the ferry was moving before it actually did.
Here in Sweden today we have sunshine and couple of degrees below 0.
Crete has 17 not that bad I think.....(but we also missed the olives because of the bad weather)Kriti stis kardies mas
