People MUST always get THEIR OWN lawyer to advise them BEFORE they sign contracts or part with any money.
There are some bright examples of honest, quality building companies out there (Euroland Crete did a great job for us) but as the Greek law is full of loop holes, there are builders who take advantage of these.
Yes, we have been shown houses which would be 'difficult' to connect to the electricity grid, houses with obvious land ownership issues, we did come across builders who asked for a large part of the money up front, etc., etc.
Buyers need common sense, a good lawyer, and perhaps a trusted engineer to do a snag report at the end.
