The area of Plakias is the western part of the county of Agios Vassilios and practically starts a little after the village of Armenoi. It covers the mainland down to the southern coast of the county, along which it extends from the Palm beach where one of the most wonderful gorges of the area ends, to the beach of Rodakino.
The major part of the coast line is accessible by car , and the visitor will find both popular resorts as well as many secluded beaches.
A walk through the mainland will bring to life scenes from the past and will offer the opportunity to discover forests, picturesque villages, historical monuments and small chapels with significant treasures.
The area is quite developed and provides many facilities to the visitors, from large hotels to small family owned apartments, organized beaches, lovely taverns and ofcourse an interesting nightlife.
