Apano Kalathenes	The village of Kalathenes at 280m a.s.l. with 290 inhabitants. lies 11.5 km away from Kastelli Kissamou and 50km from the city of Hania. Kalathenes have an important agricultural production of olive oil, excellent wine, cypress lumber, and dairy products.
Here we find a Venetian villa named "Rotonda" which used to be the residence of a Venetian nobleman between 1500 and 1600. They call it "Rotonda" because of its circular form, . The villa is still used today as a house.

A loom	At Kalathenes operates a weaver cooperative, with a loom room where 20 women produce traditional hand woven products (clothes, tableclothees etc.) . The products of the cooperative are on display and sold at a small shop , in Kastelli near the National Bank of Greece. GR text
